"It is long since a choir performing in such a natural, fresh and easy manner came to New York", declares the "New York Times" newspaper. "An excellent choir that has each and every quality to be at the top in the world of choir art", the "Tokyo Times" Japanese newspaper exclaims. The Children's Choir of the Bulgarian Radio and Television was founded in 1960. Making a quick artistic progress it soon became famous on stage, finding its due place among the best choirs in Bulgaria as something entirely mature in creativity and becoming a leader in Bulgarian's choir-performing art. Both listeners and viewers show keen interest in this choir's concert programmes while its live performances at home and abroad have not stopped to win more and more admireres of the little singers as well as new friends of Bulgaria. Founder of the choir, its artistic director and chief conductor is Hristo Nedyalkov - Sofia University professor of Choral conducting one of the most outstanding representatives of the Bulgarian musicians. It is on four continents that these wonderful exuberant children have already had concerts. The little Bulgarian singers have had great success singing at the most famous concert halls in Paris, London, New York, Moscow, Tokyo, Bonn, Vienna, Prague, Stockholm, Mexiko, Cairo and in many other towns of nearly 30 countries. Only in Japan the choir has given over 300 full-time concerts within its ten concert tours in that country, visiting over 130 towns. Many gramophone firms and television companies have recorded its programmes and are popularizing its high performing art all over the world. The choir's repertoire includes compositions by old masters of different epochs and styles, works of Bulgarian and foreign contemporary composers, choir arrangements of Bulgarian and other folk songs. The Children's Choir of the Bulgarian Radio and Television is laureate and winner of Grand Prix, special and first awards, gold medals and diplomas for great artistic achievements at many national and international choir competitions and festivals. |
